Description

The training program on ‘Arbitration Simulation’ aims to train in addressing the challenges posed by the pandemic and in particular the need for hybrid procedures using technology.

The matter concerns the provision of services by the Claimants (Greek company) to the Respondents (Cypriot company). The dispute is referred to an international arbitration, using the Greek language, with seat in Limassol, Cyprus.

The Claimants claim the remuneration balance and the Respondents allege that the claim is excessive and that they have a counterclaim for omissions and errors of the Claimants. To date, the Claimants have submitted two statements, one of a factual witness and one of an expert in relation to the remuneration amount and the counterclaim.

The purpose of the hearing is to check whether all the steps that should have been taken place, have indeed taken place, so that the arbitrators can schedule the hearing of the matter and issue directions for the virtual hearing.

The Claimants’ lawyers are in Nicosia and Larnaca and the Respondents’ lawyers in Nicosia and Limassol. The two arbitrators are in Limassol and the third arbitrator in Nicosia. Therefore, the hearing is taking place virtually.

The following will take part:

Stavros Pavlou, Soteris Pittas, Melina Karaolia, Agis Georgiades, Nicolas Kyriakides, George Mountis, Marcos Dracos, Polyvios Panayides, Marina Hadjisoteriou
